We are part of something bigger than ourselves. There are those who introduced you to Jesus. Some helped you grow as His followers. You have the privilege to be involved in the lives of others passing on what you have learned How this helps: Here are four steps for creating your spiritual family tree. Include those who spiritually invested in your life, those you’re investing in, and even those who are being discipled by those you’ve discipled. It’s powerful to see how many are impacted by disciplemakers taking small steps of faith.
Mapping out our spiritual family trees is a powerful experience. It reminds us to be grateful for those who planted and watered the seeds of faith in our lives. It also reminds us that we are called to bear fruit in the lives of others by inviting them to know Christ, make Him known and help others do the same (John 15:16).
Thank God for those He placed in your life to help you grow spiritually. Include their names in the boxes below yours.
In the boxes flowing from yours, capture the names of anyone you’ve already helped grow in Christ. Feel free to add more boxes!
Connect with those you’ve invested in and ask whom they’ve gone on to help grow in Christ. Include them on the tree and pray for their perseverance in following Jesus.
Pray for God to reveal who else He is calling you to add to your spiritual family tree through Life-to-Life® discipleship.
